My outgoing email is frequently flagged as spam

kb016040802

Problem:

My Cpanel email is frequenly flagged as spam when I send to customers or friends.

Solution:

Your account may not have SPF records configured.

The SPF system allows you to specify servers and IP addresses that are authorized to send mail from your domain(s). This feature works to prevent outgoing spam messages.

In Short SPF allows other email servers to know that your hosting account authorised to send email for your domain. This improves deliverabillity for your domain.

To enable this:
1. Login to Cpanel
2. Under the EMail Section choose Authentication
3. Click Enable SPF

If you have additional services like bulk email services that send email on behalf of your domain. Ensure that you insert their details here too. If you don't have any such service you can simply use the defaults and Save/Update the settings.

Other Solutions
Ensure that you don't use empty subject lines on email that you send. This almost always get flagged as spam.
